I think it's time. Time to buy a for-reals, non iPhone camera. It's time to invest in a digital slr camera. But, this is such a big investment (lets be real, for me anything more than $100 is a big investment)! I want to know what other people/bloggers are using/ love.
I've currently got my eyes set on this Canon Rebel T3i 600D camera:
$900 is my cap.. geez, I mean, I never though I would even spend that much on a camera. I guess I've still got a bit of sticker shock going on. I think it will be a worthy investment though, seeing as my picture taking numbers have been increasing exponentially lately. Anyways, what are you using? What beginner-ish digital slr would you recommend? Thoughts would be greatly appreciated :)
My friend who is in film/photography recommends not buying a rebel (he says they are over-priced) and instead getting the body of a cheaper Canon and then investing that extra money in the lens which is your real shot-maker, anyway. To be honest, though, I know more people that lean toward Nikon than Canon. I'm sure others disagree.
ReplyDeletethanks for the feedback! At first, getting a cheaper canon, was exactly what I was thinking, but I really want things like wireless flash and just feel like if i'm going to make this large of an investment, I should just get the best that is on the market. I am only looking at used rebels to save a few bucks though. And I have been looking at the nikon d5100. I really like that one too, but it just has this look of being less well made. It is lighter though... haha I'm still feeling so indecisive!
DeleteI wish I could help you, but I still use a plain old digital. I want an slr more than anything though. You'll have to let us know which one you choose, good luck!
ReplyDeleteI will, thanks! yeah, my iPhone camera just doesn't seem to be cutting it anymore and my current digital is about 6 years old. I figured if I was going to spend a few 100 bucks on a new digital, I should just really upgrade to a beginner digital slr.
